Out of the Bubble Bakery is an allergy-friendly bakery-cafe, dedicated to crafting safe, delectable, and artistic desserts. We are mostly vegan, and completely dairy-free and nut-free. We are looking for careful, energetic, organized, and detailed oriented personal to join our team. It is preferable that the candidate has experience working with food allergies. Candidates must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. The job requires standing, walking, bending, the ability to lift, stack, and maneuver heavy objects.

Baker (18 and older)

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

Hours: Part-time positions available 1130am – 800pm (Tuesday – Saturday)

Job Description: Employee’s scope of work includes but is not limited to:

  • Scoop cake, cupcake, and cookie batters
  • Bake cakes, cookies, bars, cupcakes cakes, muffins, scones, yeast pastries, pies, and quick breads
  • Make icings and fillings
  • Frost cakes and cupcakes
  • Package and label products for storage and/or sell
  • Garnishing desserts
  • Coloring frostings and fondants
  • Simple fondant decorations to include applying simple cutouts, polka dots, stripes.
  • Keeping inventory of ingredients and supplies
  • Cleaning and sanitizing food work surfaces and floors
  • Wash and sanitize utensils, tools, equipment, and surfaces

Physical Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be able to speak English fluently
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
  • Punctual and able to observe regular and consistent attendance

Counter Sales associates 

Hours: Part-time positions available (730am – 4pm), Tuesday – Saturday

Pay: From $13.00 – $15.00 per hour, plus tips

Overall description:

Our Bakery Sales Counter associates are often the first people to greet our guests. They are an integral part of our bakery team providing exceptional hospitality, preparing and serving our delicious scratch-made food and drink, while ensuring the safety of all customers with food allergies. 

Responsibilities:

  • ·Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers. Adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, inform clients about what ingredients may or may not be present in each item
  • Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked. Stocks and cleans shelves, bins, and display areas.
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold coffee and tea beverages
  • Package customer orders
  • Collect payments from guests
  • Answers phones and providing information to customers about product availability, hours, directions, and ordering procedures
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work spaces to include counter service area, dining area, and bathrooms
  • Collect payments from guests
  • Helps maintain a clean kitchen, wash dishes, sweep, mop, cleans and sanitizes surfaces

Requirements

  • One year of experience in a quick service restaurant, bakery, or coffee shop preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried and ingredients
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds, as needed
  • Capable of continuous bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and use of hands and arm
  • Take ServSafe Food Allergy course and obtain certification
