Do you have a store location where pick up orders? Can I just stop by? 

We do not have a storefront, we are a home-based bakery. All of our products are baked and decorated to order. You must place an order in advance. We are located near the intersection of Pohick Rd and Rt 286 in Springfield, VA 22153. We offer pick-up by appointment only. We also offer delivery within a 25 mile radius from our location to  many parts of Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland.  From April through December you can visit us at our farmers market stand.

Do you offer tastings? How do we sample your products?

Due to the fact that we are a home bakery and space is limited, we do not offer sit-down tastings. We do offer a limited number ways, aside from placing an order where minimum order quantities apply, to sample our products.

For large events of 100 guests or more we offer a “To Go Cake Tasting” ($45.00). You will be able to choose three cake flavors. If you choose to book with us, the cake tasting fee will be deducted from your order total if your order is over $350.  We will prepare three (3) four-inch round 3 cakes and package them to be enjoyed at your leisure. Each cake serves 4-6 people. The fee for this cake tastings option is $45.00.


How far in advance should I place my order?

Placing your order as soon as possible is suggested to ensure your desired date is available. We can only fulfill a limited number of orders each week and we book on a first come, first serve basis. Popular dates are often booked 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Please note, most custom designs take at least 3 weeks of planning. For orders with less than 2 weeks’ notice, design options, sizes, and flavors maybe limited. 

Feel free to check with us if you are within 2 weeks, you never know, we’ll see what we can do. We rarely can accommodate rush orders.

How do I reserve a date?

A date is reserved when your order balance or deposit is received. Custom orders cannot be started until your balance or deposit is received, so be sure to pay your invoice promptly.  For orders under $150.00, the full balance is due 10 days prior to your event. For orders over $150.00, once the design is finalized, a 50% deposit is required. The balance is due ten (10) business days before the event date. If less than ten (10) days’ notice is given, the full balance will be due upon booking. Deposits are non-refundable.

Do you deliver?

We do offer delivery. Orders can also be picked up by appointment. For orders over $75, we will deliver up to 25 miles at a mileage based fee, currently $1.10 – $1.50 per mile depending on distance.  Delivery for orders over $75.00 within 5 miles is complimentary. For large special events over $1,000.00 we may deliver up to 75 miles at the mileage rate, plus an additional long distance delivery fee. 

Are you a nut-free facility?

All our products are peanut free, tree nut, and dairy-free.  In fact, we don’t use any ingredients that have been cross-contaminated by peanuts, tree nuts, or dairy.  All of our recipes are also soy-free. However, add-on decorative elements such as sprinkles contain soy. We do occasionally use coconut products in our home for personal use, but keep it separate from bakery equipment and ingredients.

Are all your ingredients organic and/or non-GMO?

No.  We do our best to find organic and non-GMO ingredients.  There are ingredients that we have not been able to find that are both organic and/or nut-free and dairy-free. In those cases, we have chosen the allergy-friendly brand over the organic brand.  We never stop looking for the best ingredients.

Do you offer gluten-free products?

Yes, we do offer gluten-free cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.  We use the same processes to prevent cross-contact as with our other baked goods, but we do not have dedicated equipment for processing gluten-free baked goods aside from a dedicated gluten-free stand mixer.

Do you accommodate other dietary restrictions or allergies?

We have serviced customers with all kinds of allergies and restrictions but we don’t always have cross-contact information for ingredients that are not in the top 8. Some of those include but are not limited to corn, alcohol, stone fruits, strawberries, apples, oats, and more. On an individual basis, we would be happy to try to formulate a recipe that is a perfect fit for you. Contact us and we can discuss if it is feasible. However, at least eight (8) weeks’ lead time is required.

Do you offer character cakes (i.e., Disney Princess, Spider-man, Mickey Mouse, etc)? 

We unfortunately do not recreate licensed characters, copyrighted materials, trademarks, or logos without expressed written consent from the owners as intellectual property laws prohibits this. We do offer options however. We can a design a cake that fits your theme more generically, and you can also increase the star power of your cake by using character candles or figurines. We also use bakery kits, the same kits grocery stores offer. See www.decopac.com for cake themes we can recreate with your favorite characters. We do not stock the kits, they must be special ordered and require a 2 week lead time, otherwise rush shipping charges apply.

We love your work but don’t have food allergies, can we order too?

Yes. We will provide desserts to anyone on a first come, first serve basis. However, we cannot bake or cook anything that contains dairy, peanuts, or tree nuts. No exceptions!

Can I place my order online?

We do not offer online ordering at this time.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). You can pay by credit card online or over the phone. We also accept personal checks. Checks should be written out to Out of the Bubble Bakery and mailed to 8555 Groveland Drive, Springfield, VA 22153. 

Do you ship?

We only offer shipping at this time. All orders are for local pick-up or delivery. 

What is your cancellation policy?

All deposits are non-refundable. For cancellations with at least two weeks’ notice, credit may be given for a future order, subject to the date being available. There will be no refund for orders cancelled inside of two weeks.
