Do you have a store location where pick up orders? Can I just stop by?
Yes, our retail store is open 6 days a week. We have an assortment of cupcakes, cookies, muffins, and scones to select from without a pre-order. Whole cakes and mini cupcakes are pre-order only and are not available for grab-and-go. Visit the Contact Us page for our hours of operation.

How should I store my baked goods?
All our products are baked fresh from scratch with no preservatives. We recommend keeping cakes, cupcakes, and cookies with fillings in the refrigerator overnight. Flavors that do not have fruit filling, fruit garnishes, or crème filling do not have to be refrigerated, but doing so prolongs the shelf-life and keep garnishes and decorations more attractive . Gluten-free cakes and cupcakes are best consumed within 2-3 days of purchasing. Cookies and scones do not need to be refrigerated and are best consumed within 1-2 days, if kept longer they should wrapped in plastic, and frozen in an airtight container. Cakes and cupcakes the do not contain fruit or crème fillings can be frozen. All our products are best enjoyed at room temperature. Cupcakes take 30 – 60 minutes to bring to room temperature. Cakes takes 1-2 hours to bring to room temperature. Allow products that have been frozen 2-4 hours to thaw and bring to room temperature. Always unwrap frozen products immediately after taking out of the freezer.
Do you offer tastings? How do we sample your products?
Yes, we offer tasting in a few different formats. We offer cake tastings and cupcake sampler packs and the pricing ranges between $20 – $50 depending on the option chosen. Also, feel free to visit our store and purchase an assortment of cupcakes to enjoy at your leisure. How far in advance should I place my order?
Placing your order as soon as possible is suggested to ensure your desired date is available. We can only fulfill a limited number of orders each week and we book on a first come, first serve basis. Popular dates are often booked 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Please note, most custom designs take at least 2 weeks of planning. For orders with less than 2 weeks’ notice, design options, sizes, and flavors maybe limited. You can also pre-order online from a limited selection of cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, with 2 work days’ advance notice.
How do I reserve a date?
A date is reserved when your order balance or deposit is received. Custom orders cannot be started until your balance or deposit is received, so be sure to pay your invoice promptly. For orders under $250.00, the full balance is due 10 days prior to your event. For orders over $250.00, once the design is finalized, a 50% deposit is required. The balance is due ten (10) business days before the event date. If less than ten (10) days’ notice is given, the full balance will be due upon booking. Deposits are non-refundable.
Do you deliver?
For orders over catering orders over $350, we will deliver up to 25 miles at a mileage based fee, currently $2.50 per mile. For large special events over $2,000.00 we may deliver up to 60 miles at the mileage rate, plus an additional long distance delivery fee.
Are you a nut-free facility?
All our products are peanut free, tree nut, egg-free, and dairy-free. In fact, we don’t use any ingredients that have come in contact with peanuts, tree nuts, or dairy. All of our recipes are also soy-free. However, add-on decorative elements (by special request only) such as sprinkles may contain soy. Are all your ingredients organic and/or non-GMO?
No. We do our best to find organic and non-GMO ingredients. There are ingredients that we have not been able to find that are both organic and allergy-friendly. In those cases, we have chosen the allergy-friendly brand over the organic brand. We never stop looking for the best ingredients.
Do you offer gluten-free products?
Yes, we do offer gluten-friendly cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. We use the same processes to prevent cross-contact as with our other baked goods, we do have separate ingredients and dedicated gluten-free stand mixers, but all other equipment is shared but cleaned prior to use.
Do you accommodate other dietary restrictions or allergies?
We have serviced customers with all kinds of allergies and restrictions but we don’t always have cross-contact information for ingredients that are not in the top 9. Some of those include but are not limited to corn, alcohol, stone fruits, strawberries, apples, oats, and more. On an individual basis, we would be happy to try to formulate a recipe that is a perfect fit for you. Contact us and we can discuss if it is feasible. However, at least eight (8) weeks’ lead time is required.
We love your work but don’t have food allergies, can we order too?
Yes. We will provide desserts to anyone on a first come, first serve basis. However, we cannot bake or cook anything that contains eggs, dairy, peanuts, or tree nuts. No exceptions!
Can I place my order online?
Yes, you can pre-order online with 2-3 work days’ advance notice for a limited selection of our standard cupcakes, cookies, and cakes.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). You can pay by credit card online or over the phone. We also accept checks. Checks should be written out to Out of the Bubble Bakery and mailed to 6230-A Rolling Rd, Springfield, VA 22152.
Do you ship?
We do not offer shipping at this time. All orders are for local pick-up.
What is your cancellation policy?
All deposits are non-refundable. For cancellations with at least two weeks’ notice, credit may be given for a future order, subject to the date being available. There will be no refund for orders cancelled inside of two weeks. For online store orders, all sales are final and not refundable.
